The NHL’s top contenders have all stocked up for the last push to the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs after Monday’s trade deadline. While the In the Eastern Conference, field is essentially set (with some seeding shuffles to come), the Conference of the West remains available for a few spots. Tuesday’s slate may be able to provide some light on the situation.
The Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars game, as well as the Nashville Predators and Los Angeles Kings game, are the two big matches we’ll be keeping an eye on. Three of those four teams are presently in playoff contention, with the Stars trailing the Vegas Golden Knights by one point for the second wild-card berth; the Knights are set to face the Winnipeg Jets tonight in an attempt to break out of a recent slump.
As we approach the 2021-22 regular season’s post-deadline period, it’s time to check in on all of the playoff races, as well as the clubs vying for a spot in the 2022 NHL draft lottery.
