In a recent update to the game, players were given the ability to transfer progress from one save file to another. This article will discuss how this process works and possible issues that may arise during the transfer.

deep rock galactic failed to retrieve cloud saves is a problem that has been present for a while. The game has released an update that should fix the issue.

World War Z: Aftermath is a co-op zombie shooter based on the blockbuster film by Paramount Pictures and the sequel to the first smash World War Z. This game has over 15 million players globally. Cross-play is a fantastic feature in this game. In dramatic narrative episodes set in fresh zombie-ravaged locales across the globe, play with up to three players or play alone with AI allies against hordes of zombies. WWZ Aftermath will be released on Steam on September 21, 2021. You may find out more about it here.

To get to the point of this article, I’ll teach you how to transfer your progress and save files from your Epic Games account to your Steam account. Please note that the technique I shall demonstrate is NOT the official way to do this. Because the creators haven’t given us with a clear mechanism for transferring saves, I thought I’d do it myself. Now, without further ado, let’s have a look…

Warning: Graphic Image | Steam and Gamertagzero.com are the sources for this image.

To begin, you must first identify where your Epic game save file is stored in order to transfer it. The save should be saved to C: > Users > user profile > AppData > Local > Saber > WWZ > client > storage > slots by default. Look for a file named user progression.dat after you’ve browsed through this folder. This is what the save file folder should look like:

Then, go to the World War Z Aftermath or WWZ Steam Cloud Directory. C:Program Files should be the place for this (x86) SteamuserdataID699130remote is your Steam user ID. Simply replace the user progression.dat file in the steam folder with the EGS user progression.dat file. Change the file extension from.dat to.cfg. Here’s an example of a Steam Cloud Directory Folder that you’ll need to change and rename, like I mentioned:

So, in a nutshell [TLDR]:

  • C: > Users > user profile > AppData > Local > Saber > WWZ > client > storage > slots Open the Epic Games Save folder – C: > Users > user profile > AppData > Local > Saber > WWZ > client > storage > slots
  • User progression.dat is a file to look for.
  • Open the Steam Cloud Directory – C:Program Files and copy this file (x86) SteamuserdataID699130remote is your Steam user ID.
  • Remove the user progression file from the directory. EGS user progression.dat should be used instead.
  • Change the file extension from.dat to.cfg.
  • Everything is finished and ready to go!

How to Uninstall Epic Games’ Launcher and Account

You may feel compelled to remove one or both of them once you’ve finished transferring. To do so, open your browser and navigate to Epic Games Account Settings. There should be a DELETE ACCOUNT option at the bottom of the screen. When you click that, a verification number should be sent to your registered email address. After you’ve entered the code, you should be through with the account section.

The process for removing Epic Games launcher is pretty simple. Locate the Epic Games exe in the control panel. If you want to remove it, just click on it and uninstall it. That’s how you may remove an Epic account while also removing the launcher. This is something I strongly encourage you to do AFTER you’ve finished uploading your saved data and progress to Steam. This is totally optional, and whether you choose to do it or not is entirely up to you.

That’s all I had to say about transferring your progress/save data from Epic Games to Steam in WWZ Aftermath in this short article. Please let me know if this article was helpful in any way in the comments section below. You may also contact me with any questions or concerns you may have about the position. Thank you for reading, and I hope to see you again soon with more of the same.
